Looking After Your Coast

New Whitehaven Warden

Team_Small__ChrisChris Gomersall (left), the new Whitehaven Warden has arrived and is starting work on the Whitehaven Coast.

Chris, who works for The National Trust, will be working with local residents, volunteers and members of the partnership to manage the land on the Haig site.

Pictured here with Mark Astley, the National Trust warden for Buttermere and Ennerdale, Chris has already started to look after the coastline.  When this picture was taken he was planting gorse bushes with the rest of the National Trust team.

Chris has worked for the National Trust before in Snowdonia, and is looking forward to getting to know local people and working with them to protect this special stretch of coastline.

So, if you see Chris out and about, please give him a wave!
