Looking After Your Coast

Work continues

Removing_the_fencing

The process of tidying up the coastline is now starting in earnest. With all the heavy plant equipment and contractors now off site attention can be given to clearing the redundant security fencing which has marred the coastline for so many years. It is the National Trust's intention to improve access and enhance the coastline for everybody to enjoy, and tidying up historic features is all part of the plan.

What Is Being Done to the Path?

As you may have seen from the signs on site, the National Trust are currently carrying out works to improve the drainage and path layout above the candlestick. We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing at the moment, but with winter storms looming, and with increasing usage of the path it is important that we ensure the path network is maintained to a high standard and fit for purpose.

Why Is The Privet Hedge Being Pulled Out?

As cyclists are directed onto the track to the coastguard station, it is essential that some of the privet be removed to allow increased visibility, which will hopefullyprevent any collisions at this junction.
