Rob Frazer and Emma McGordon
In April and May 2006 artists Rob Frazer and Emma McGordon began a short residency in Kells St Mary's school. Rob and Emma used poetry and photography to engage the pupils in ideas and debates about space and place.
The brief also challenged Rob and Emma to develop ways in which we could engage the wider community in consultation about the coastal strip and the soon to be decommissioned Rhodia Chemical works.
The work produced a variety of outcomes including traditional black and white process, digital photography, panoramas, illustrated stories and poetry. Rob went on to develop ideas for a community darkroom to be hosted by the school and further adult work. Emma began to work on an audio diary/archive with a group at the Haig day-care centre for the Elderly.
